A HUGE place. They have everything here. Spas, lounges, Starbucks, fast food, fine dining, and destinations to most any place in the planet. Its amazing. They also have a few fantastic areas for kids to play. My favorite major airport.

Enormous airport, I had to walk for thirty minutes to reach my station. So brace yourself for a lot of walking but they have a lot of stores and place to eat on the way. Its handy to have some USD on hand for any purchases. The airport is taken care of good and the standard its sets is very high. May seem to some as a massive shopping mall. Luxurious.

Very busy and always alive airport. Better terminal is Terminal 3 (Emirates terminal), that is new and modern, full of shops and restaurants, including luxurious lounges, separate floors for first and business class passengers. terminal 1 is the older (but not so much) terminal for most of the airlines, with plenty of duty free shops and cafes. Terminal 2 is for the other destinations (including some low cost companies) and has less space, shops and cafes.

In one word - posh! Yes, there are many things to like about this airport - the Heineken Lounge, the duty free stores, the infrastructure, the people, and so on. Dont expect too many power outlets to plug in your phone or laptop for charging. But the one thing that really caught my eye are the lounge chairs all over Terminal 3, which is so convenient to rest if you have a long layover. (And I got upgraded to business class here, so another reason for me to like this airport!

Be prepared for a long walk between gates. And plan ahead for toilet breaks, if you arrive on a busy time you may not get to a toilet for 10 mins. Staff were very helpful. If you are coming into the airport from Dubai make sure you plan a little extra time for heavy security screening traffic. Great place for a lay over.

Great airport, the passengers sometimes exceed the airport capacity. Particularly in case of the bathrooms.. they need extra cleaning and maintaining at a regular basis. Also add more smoking areas... Cheeers...

Shopaholics will enjoy their transit at the airport. However, it has way too many passengers and too little toilets. Every toilet that I went to has long queue. And theres not enough place to eat. Free shower facilities are available which is great. For budget coffee and snacks look for the vending machine.

I love this airport! The great service and a huge variety of shops and food outlets - what else can you with from airport? It is crowded (because it is one of the busiest airports in the world), but I have never had a problem to find an empty seat. As well prices dont vary much from shops/restaurants in the city.

Everything at Dubai Airport is made for you to enjoy your transit. Its probably the biggest transit hub in the world. Shopping mall and food court has no equivalent, and, surprisingly, its not as expensive as I expected. The very good points of the airport is the free showers, which are very welcomed on long trips, and the relaxing chairs, by thousands, helping you to get rest despite the huge traffic of travelers. The airport is however very large. Too large. Its hard sometimes to find your gate or your destination. The internal shuttle train is not very easy to use and is quite strange. I think the airport has improvements to do in matter of information and signs to become even more efficient and convenient.

This airport is well appointed with not only helpful staff, but with easy signs to all transfers and train (if required to get to a different gate.) Exceptional amount of duty free shopping available - and if youre lucky enough to use any of the lounges, then you are in for a treat. One of the best airports I have visited - and I lost count at 200 plus airports.

Best airport in the world! Consistently good service from all airport employees (check-in all the way to boarding) and plenty of facilities that suit everyones needs. Never feels overly crowded even during peak times. I tried all terminals multiple times and had a great experience every time. Ranking of terminals is T3 > T1 > T2.

This airport is awesome however it depends on what terminal you are going through. If you are going through terminal 2 then there is nothing special but I love all that terminal 1 and 3 has to offer. The executive lounges, hotels, restaurants, bars, design, and duty free areas make your time in the airport enjoyable no matter if you are there for a long layover or waiting for a flight out. One of the airports I do not mind stopping at.

This airport is almost close to a small city. It has got everythings can ask for..be it shopping, dining, fast food, coffee shops, etc. It is huge and has 3 concourse namely A, B and C. All of them collectively have about 120 gates for boarding/de-boarding planes. One can move between the concourse using train, bus or just by walking. The duty free collection is awesome, though some of the items are available at lesser rates in other airports. There are plenty of food joints offering international cuisines.

One of the best airport for travellers with long transit time. It is super modern, with a large duty free area. Plenty of options for shopping, dinning and drinking. Pedicure, manicure and massages are also on offer. It also has an airport hotel if you have enough time to lie down or need a little privacy while in transit. Fairly good and fast internet connection available. There are also stations with tablets or computers for public use.

The terrible thing about this airport is that despite the huge crowd behind the passport control the officers wouldnt fully operate (maybe only 5 out of 40 active) and therefore you might have to wait even as long as 2 hours to get cleared. Terminal 3 is much better in that sense than Terminal 1.

Amazing Klang

A large airport but we have to take two trains to reach the B gate which was time - consuming. There arent enough resting places obviously due to mass tourism these days. The trams to transport the elderly or others are disturbing the walking passengers peace. The passage ways are way too narrow to accommodate them zipping in and out. Shops and cafes were overcrowded including long waits to use the toilets which fortunately were clean. You definitely need to build a new spacious terminal to cope with mass tourism these days, just like what Singapore Changi Airport is doing. The lighting is a bit odd for the eyes. They are not soothing at all. More open spaces with greenery or park-like corners might destress the passengers when there are big crowds expected.

Huge, modern, luxurious. Surely one of the best airports in the world. The scale of the building is breathtaking - four storey waterfalls cascade down the walls - the feeling of space and logical way-finding is exceptional. The airport is fully operational 24/7. All the shops and restaurants stay open all night. If youre lucky enough to be travelling business class the private lounges and complimentary facilities are like a five star hotel.

This is a "Grand Place" and cant be missed. A shoppers paradise from electronics to sportswear to robotics to chocolates to eatery joints, you name it and its there. One of those airports where even in transit you enjoy. Service is fast, infrastructure is breathtaking, connections are smooth and maybe thats why it is regarded as one of the best airports in recent times.

For such a new airport, expected faster and more efficient baggage drop-off, security check and customs. However once behind customs a great airport with good public seats, private lounges and shops. If you you fly between 22:00 and 2 am, be way in time, as this is rush hour. Best place in the world to buy premium whiskey at reasonable price!

Seems alright in non peak times but when it was busy there were no quiet spots available (they were even birds making noise inside the terminal building), toilets pretty far away and it seemed like the aircon was turned off. Its very large. Sometimes (a lot of the time) you have to take a long bus to your plane.

Very nice and modern airport, but I just cant bear the wait at arrivals or departures. The queues are so long and the customs agents not so fast and diligent. In addition, there is no special treatment for families with young children and pregnant women like in other airports.

Restrooms are dirty, waiting time for food very long and they cant even change dollars. I was just catching a connection flight in Dubai so I had no AED. Wanted to pay a breakfast for 15$. Would have gotten no change for my 50$ bill. Thats ridiculous for an international airport.

Get ready for a lengthy bus ride where ever you are going in the airport. There is so much building work in progress it is impossible to walk between the gates so you will be squeezed into tiny mini buses. I would have expected much better planning from such a prestigious airport. Leave plenty of time to get where you need to be.

Its clean, light and airy. I did shuffle about it like a zombie though. What wasnt great was the way that the gents toilets were under water due to the water sprayed by the previous occupant of the toilet, Ill leave that there. Would have liked the toilet to have cold water as well as toothbrushing with warm water is deeply unpleasant.

Really really huge airport, perhaps the largest Ive ever been, visiting all the 3 terminals can take up the whole day. Everything is finely accommodated passengers waiting for long layover times, from countless duty free shops and restaurants, to sufficient sleeping pods and lounges. Youll get a meal voucher if the layover time is more than 4 hours. Its bustling day in and day out, people can find anything to eat and drink and shop even midnight. The only thing I dont like is that theres only an hour of free wifi, other than that everything is perfectly fine.

My anxious elderly mom was traveling from Houston to Zambia via Dubai. Its the first time I have been associated with emirates. I didnt know that I had to make a reservation myself for a hotel. At the airport, in Houston I was told theres nothing the airline can do about it. I let my mom go on the plane. I booked a hotel outside the airline deal. I called the airline to let my anxiety filled mom know that theres a hotel reservation inside the airport. I was promised they would relay the message to the crew. I called the Dubai International Airport Terminal Hotel to have somebody go "meet and greet" her. They excellently did. I talked with her from the hotel and she was the happiest with the airline and how they all handled her all the way to the hotel. Ill be your customer emirates.

This is a truly awesome Airport ( more than 6700 reviews for this place should give you an idea that people really like this place) This International Airport is huge, busy, well organized and traveller friendly. Fully operational 24/7 this Airport acts like a gateway to the world with multiple destinations to almost all major cities around the globe. There are plenty of restaurant, Coffee shops, Rest rooms ( and even showers). Help desks are available throughout the Airport. There are three main hubs A,B and C with more than sixty gates. Sometimes the distance between two gates can easily take 15 minutes so prepare in advance to reach your gate in time. Complimentary strollers for young kids and wheel chairs for the elderly and persons with disability are available free of cost. High speed free internet is provided.

In terms of architecture and wow-factor a very nice and modern airport that is similar to a luxury shopping centre. Despite the sometimes outrageous prices I noticed that most of the unofficial (not public service) staff are from countries often associated with exploitative wages for foreign workers e.g the Philippines or India. The toilets are often disgusting with faecal matter in the seats as a result of the use of a hose to clean ones backside in some cultures. Cultural diversity is great but when the airport managers are aware of such diversity in respect to toileting one might expect that arrangements would be made to ensure that faecally contaminated water might be cleaned from the toilet seats and disinfection is carried out before the next traveler uses the facilities. A good example of such good hygiene practices can be seen in roadside rest stops in Europe. The customs staff seem to consider themselves superior to every other person in the universe and are accordingly exceptionally unfriendly to the hordes of plebs providing them with employment. On the whole mudguard airport: shiny on the surface but very dirty when man looks beyond the superficial gloss.

Ok for short connections as it has all ammenities. For longer connection sitting in lounge is the only option. Food choice is very poor and expensive. Shops dont have anything interesting, stocked with the same worlds most abundant brands and items that are available everywhere and a few Dubai branded cammel shaped accessories. "duty free" prices in best case scenario are same as nearest department store. Next time if possible will prefer connection in Doha, Bangkok or Hong Kong.

Toilets are clean and Internet always work .That.s good. But, everything here are overpriced and not many choices. We had 21 connection in this airport.. The airport is huge but the only areas you can go only two floors, other floors are gates. Not many choice for shopping, expect for luxurious brands like every airports have, there are two exactly same "chocolates & gifts" stores on the west side and east side..also two same shops which sale electronic devices on each side...many shops are selling duplicated items.. which is boring and not creative.. not many choices for traveller.. dont even know what to bring to family. These places even selling "Chinese alcohol" in tobacco shop.. shouldnt i see selling Local things... The choices for food only have Starbuck, McDonalds, Burgerking, Paul, Heineken small bar, costa, Nero, pizza vendor (not fresh pizza and the price is not worthy) These fast-food, chain cafe you can find in almost any airport in Europe. We chose to have 21 hours connection here. We thought here would be a good place to stay for long hours since had heard good things about here before.Shopping, international etc. Though will be like HK , Amsterdam, BKK. etc. However, we are very disappointed. we feeling stuck here. Wandered between two floors and two sides saw the same shops. Seems the planner who organized here very lazy. Had good experience with Qatar two times before. Doha airport is more interesting, more shops , bigger and the areas you can ACTUALLy hang around are much more than Dubai. Qatar is the best in the world. Will not choose this place to connect next time and will not recommend to people to come here for shopping as well. Its not as good as other people say. We chose Emirates to come here have connection. It.s not a preset experience. Will not choose Emirates next time as well.

Its modern in a sense of the current climate of Dubai. Just beautiful. Views? You must be wondering why would an airport have views, well be surprised because this one does. When you come down the elevator to collect your suitcases you come down to a waterfall and when you reach the ground level you look behind you its all open so you can hear the waterfull. Its quiet cool.

Massive yet Modern. I have transited through this Airport few times and the Airport looks different every time I arrive. There are 3 terminals all connected by a train. The staff and signs guide you to the terminal. It can be a little overwhelming since the whole appeal of the Airport is very big...elevators, waterfall etc. Good shopping and eating places. Make sure you at least have 90 mins for transit in this Airport as it takes time to clear security and reach your gate which can be the farthest.

This is a great place. The place is maintained very well and it is very clean. The staff here are quite helpful and friendly most of the time. You are able to buy many things from duty free. The parking area is nicely maintained, although it can be a bit difficult to get around it. The companion app is very helpful and offers a list for flights, information about the airport, traffic updates and things you could do at the airport while you wait for your flight. The underground train system is smooth and fast as well.

Since I started my work in the Navy, I fly a lot in Africa and middle East. I always flew Emirates and my transit was dxb mostly. In 2015 I took my family from Los Angeles to Saudi for umrah, I experienced the worst kind of emberesment, the Indian guy who was working for Emirates yelled at me in front of his white female co-worker. Again I was with my family and i was wearing umrah clothes. He yelled because I asked him that entrance was not showing which one for 1st class and which door for economy. After all the embarrassing few seconds, I now fly any airline but Emirates and I enjoy my transit in Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain. F Emirates and F Emirates multinational team.

This airport is a nightmare! Emirates flights park outside and the bus takes ages to arrive at the terminal. Toilets are rare, super dirty and old, also closed at the same time for cleaning! Most annoying is the drivers (service and police) constantly driving through the crowd honking on anyone whos not jumping aside! Apart from that, our delayed flight was already announced to be delayed online for two hours but the local displays still showed the planned departure without anything notification. Toilets are used for smoking and no one cares! The seating areas are way too small so people have to sit on the floor... Thats embarrassing! Honestly, these guys dont run an airport, they run a crappy and overpriced shopping mall. Traveler experience was the last priority here!

I am a frequent flyer, first time using Dubai International Airport as a stopover. Did not meet my expectations. Right now in Gate 30 of Dubai International Airport, filthy dirty area. Old and damaged chairs and furniture, careful while sit on it. Plastic hoardings hangs around without any safety precautions. Washrooms are small and conjusted. Many a washrooms needs repair. Staff are trying to clean it but without proper infrastructure, broken doors... All the hype and posh areas are on one side only. I will try to avoid this stopover next time.

A huge and ever busy airport. Over the years the airport has been declining because they have become so focused around valet parking and trying to constantly make more money from travelers. There is no place to do a pickup (not waiting, because that causes chaos) and there is constant traffic going into and getting out of the airport. The security personnel are rude and inconsiderate as well. Inside, the airport is quite good, its huge and can be a hassle to get through the terminal-connecting-train, but overall its got a lot of good shopping options at duty-free (one of the best in the world)

It is 1.15 am local time at DXB, at least I have a chair to sit in, probably most of my fellow pasengers to Perth, departure time 0245, have no where to sit at Gate A12 - until belatedly we were let into a larger predeparture seating area. Our worst ever airport transit experience. Bussed in from a remote parking spot, subjected to a security check that was weirder than usual (shoes off, belts off, jackets off, for some bracelets off, watches off), indifferent and inexperienced staff. Airport PA announcements near impossible to understand, hot water from cold water taps. Departure notice boards weird, we had to be very quick at reading before the display lines jumped ahead. Next time to Europe, if we have another trip, we will go via Singapore. Changi Airport so much better!

It is a fantastic airport so far for me. It has everything as the main hub for the world if you take the Emirates flight. The terminal is huge and sometimes you need to change from one terminal to another by using an internal airport train. You can shop anything you want and foods are everywhere in the restaurants. Sometimes you will have a meal voucher from the airline and you can purchase it in some restaurant you wish. Play ground for kids also available which is cool.

One of the best looking and biggest airport in the world but sadly there is lots of construction going on and air traffic is growing rapidoly. They are not able to expend resources similarly and you can witness total kiosk. I am victim of same kiosk. We got checked twice in transit and they transferred us from C to A terminal in bus. Bus got struck in airport traffic and driver after half an hour took some underground tunnel and violated airport rules because passengers were shouting. The other driver spit twice on airport runway. They need to make human resource much stronger and coordination between departments. I am really disappointed with system. The business class lounge is outdated and over crowded. It should be exclusive. Shower room had waiting of 1 hour. Can you imagine!!!

I used to go this Airport for my transit flight. It has a good prayer room and wash room before entering to the boarding area than the ones inside the boarding area. So if you have more waiting time for flight you better use the area before entering to boarding area.Once you enter to boarding area there are many restaurants but all are very busy so you need to think about ordering a food with your waiting time you would probably need a30 to 45 minutes to get a food .WiFi is free only one time and need to double check .

Everything looks glamorous and well maintained except for the dodgy terminal C. Three terminals, takes around 20 mins to travel in between them so make sure you check the board. Free wifi at the airport is almost non existent- most of the time you cannot connect to it (might be system overload), if you do manage, there is only 30 mins free wifi with speed good enough for whatsapp text messaging and nothing else (not sending images, voice msgs, mail fetch, or instagram or facebook, youtube..) occasionally, you may be able to run a google search after persistent trying, at the cost of your 30 mins free wifi. So good luck.

Just traveled to Dubai Airport. Avoid if possible. First, terminal 2 is in horrible shape. I thought I was in the poorest African or Asian country. The most terrifying part was they have a smoking lounge that emits second hand smoke through the whole ventilation system. I was there for 4 hours. Inhaling all that second hand cigarette smoke is equivalent to me smoking 20 packs of cigarettes. Staff is pretty rude and most were on there mobile phones searching the web. Is this the type of hospitality royal princes provide? Shame on the prince who represents Dubai as a poor 3rd world country by the shape of the Dubai International Airport.

Ill never visit to dubai. Becouse of the terrible airport texi. I had searched the internet, so I knew dubai texi is terrible, but I arrived at 23 oclock so I had no choice but to use the texi. Airport staff guided us with a black Lexus taxi. Our destination was 5km from the airport and the driver refused to check the desitination because she had known destination. However the driver drove us around the city for about 30 minutes. The price calculator on the Dubai Taxi website says 50 AED(all included), but we paid a total of 124 AED. The first impression on Dubai is uncomfortabe and amnoying. I will never visit here again.

Horrible sterile airport, bad crowd management, long waiting times at security, crowded, unmotivated workers that behaved like robots, poor signage. At security I had to wait 15 minutes for additional manual inspection of my bag, after it didnt pass x-ray inspection. The waiting at the security was extremely uncomfortable and claustrophobic. A bottle of antiperspirant deodorant just bought at the airport was confiscated while it met the requirements for liquids (smaller than 100ml, put in a transparent 1l resealable bag). There was no discussion possible. The customer care department just told me that they wont indemnify in case of mistakes of employees. My advice is to advice this megalomaniac airport at all cost.

I was denied wheel chair assistance for my mother by the emirates official( it was pre requested on my ticket) unfriendly crew member from DXB to JFK. I went through security when i arrived at the airport. Just like any other security, no liquids over 100ml, so i throw out my water bottle. Then go to duty free shop, buy more water and cologne. I then get to the boarding gate and there is another security check. So they take my water and cologne (which i bought 4minutes prior) and say i am not allowed to take liquids over 100ml on the plane. Just ridiculous. I paid alot of money for that cologne just to have it taken off of me!

At Gate B13 waiting for a flight to NY, it has two toilets, one European closet and one Arab style that is hardly used. Terrible line even in the mens room due to the shortage of toilets before a long flight! I arrived on and Emirates flight into Dubai and got off the plane on to a bus in the turmac to the terminal and as soon as you enter the terminal from ramp/turmac you go through a security check point. This looks pretty stupid, because I am coming off an airplane into the turmac and then gets checked! The comedy doesnt stop there, after entering gate B 13 passengers will walk down the walkway and into a seating area but there was another security checkpoint within gate B13 for flight EK201 to NY. They were throwing out liquids purchased anywhere other than Dubai duty free shops!. I think this is to send a message to buy in Dubai duty free shops instead of any other duty free shops( like where your trip originated from) At first I was impressed with Dubai and Emirates airlines but slowly but surely it is not looking so good anymore.

Great airport, I was flying through terminal 1 then which you head to the new Concourse D. There are lots of varieties of food to eat from, and the duty free has many special and nice things you can buy. But what made me give it three stars? Well when I first sat the terminal was quite and I liked it, suddenly in the middle of Concourse D they start playing this Iraqi song in the highest volume over and over for 15 minutes. Suddenly out of nowhere come for the Chinese New Year people wearing masks and holding the dragon and doing the traditional dance with the Chinese music on full volume. Since it was creepy, I saw that my flight started boarding so I said let me go there early to escape from this masked dance. Once I arrived at my gate after 2 minutes it said Final Call. I asked the boarding people and they said you are late and I was the last person to board the airplane. So what all this means was the Dubai Airport management didnt care about the passengers flights but they only cared about their Chinese New Year celebrations. I could have easily lost my flight due to them not caring and focusing on their passengers, and I am sure if I have lost my flight they wouldnt even bother to help me get back home. This really made me give this airport 3 stars since it ruined all of my experience that was very nice.

My flight was delayed and was granted access to their massive business lounge with showers, buffet food & drinks and places to sleep. All you really need for a long layover.

I had worst experience when I was travelling from India to USA by flight EK 0221 on April 12 2017. In security, one of the security check official has forced me to remove my Taali bottu (Sacred thread which groom tie around brides neck in marriage). I have begged him not to remove, since it is a religious and emotional thing for hindu women. But he has forced me to remove even I was crying. I was travelling alone and could not had courage to report to anyone there. Do you do the same thing with muslim women who were hijab? Do you force them to remove it for security check? It is too bad on you Dubai airport. I have travelled via Dubai several times. It never happened to me before. I seriously think twice to travel to Dubai now. It felt very very BAD and my religious sentiment got HURT because of you.

We just transit here between Frankfurt and Melbourne. Its very clean, personal is very gentle and supportive. But sometimes they let the plane arrive on an outside postition, which can cost you around 40-60min for exit of the plane - get picked up by a bus - arriving in the arrival terminal - transit to the depature terminal - check in. Just busy. Be prepared for everything.

People who served us were very rude (except one Thai man in McDonalds). Our maestro card was declined while getting food, so we desperately tried taking money from all the ATMs. We asked for help in money exchange counters multiple times and they would be very rude, not wanting to help us, redirecting us away. We felt with two different money exchange companies in terminal 1. Eventually after a long time convincing them, they did Provide service to us. But their attitude was as we are 3years old and did something wrong. They were even more rude to a poor african lady standing next to us...

A very large and at first rather daunting airport. However, the clear signage makes it easy to get around and find your bearings. Excellent duty free shopping opportunities and refreshment options. There are numerous business class/first class lounges throughout the airport, so ensure that you are at the correct one for your gate number. I was at this airport during a connection flight from Egypt with final destiny to new Delhi at India. I bought a Johnny walker wishy at duty free on Cairo intl airport. When arrive to dubai intl airport while was passing the security checkpoint, female official there told me alcohol was not allowed inside dubai intl airport........I asked for to go back and put the bottle at the trash by myself.......he laugh about my question and ask for somebody else who speaks English with me......I, then explained to him what I have already told her......he laugth once more about my request and put my Johnny walker whisky into a basket trash and said to me..... Please leave that security checkpoint without any consideration to my condition as a foreign tourist........ Please be careful of Bring some alcohol to dubai airport, it does not matter if you buy at any duty free airport from outside emirates country......authorities at the airport going to put your liquor on the trash and going to laugh about your complain......typical of a rich country with a donkeys as authority that really teat you as if you were stupid and laugh about what you said.

Arriving at 1 in the morning, there were immigration queues snaking hundreds of meters with empty border patrol desks everywhere. Same problem on the way out. Even after reading many unfavorable reviews of DXB, I thought maybe it might not be that bad, given Dubai’s reputation and all. I experienced the reviews first hand when I arrived, then departed from this chaotic mess. Many of the staff (outside of info kiosks) and airport police, both from T1 and T3, were quite unhelpful when you approach them for help. The 30min journey from customs to boarding gate was inconveniently long, even requiring a train ride in between. Immigration and security checks are slow and onerous. T1 boarding tickets doesn’t display the boarding gate number, while T3’s tickets does. I witnessed a great number of confused and irate people in front of airport screens, as well as panicked commuters like me running for our flights. I could go on and on, but I think I’ve made my point. Hopefully, I’ll never have to land there again in my life.

Airport very badly planned. Had to walk a kilometer to find a clean working toilet, but no lack of shops selling all kinds of overpriced items. Immigration and security lines a nightmare. Immigration took over 2 hours and security lines were a joke- the guy was too busy chatting to actually look at the monitor to see whether anyone had anything dangerous in their bags. Nobody has any idea on anything. Asked at least 5 persons where to go for Dubai connect and all gave different information, all of which was wrong. Next time will connect elsewhere

Even if I did purchase it. By the way, sit wasnt busy or chosen by anyone else. I was first who came to registration. As then I realized they sold it for another person for money. Thats how they do business. Be careful!

Terminal 2. Havent seen those than this. Horrific plastic seats with arm rests, cant lie down. 99% of food for sale is deep fried fast poison. WiFi is only free for 1 hour , feels like its over 56k dial up even at midnight its that slow. To go to a connecting flight from an international flight in the same terminal and to another international flight on the same emirates airline had to go through TSA security all over again... Genius

This is an amazing airport, people often complain how its too big but do you really want a small airport where you cant even breathe? I flied with Emirates and the experience was great, it should be noted that if you dont fly with Emirates you might have to wait for things such as passport control and baggage. THIS AIRPORT WAS MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THEM!! So spend a little extra money and fly with them, you will not regret it!! But honestly though What kind of a world class airport allows only 30 mins of wifi use? The largest airport in the world and this is the kind of service you get?? Many people need to connect to let their families know that they are okay, how on earth can this possibly be justified??? Also because I was underage they didnt let me book a hotel room for myself which sucked because i had to spend 11 hours there all night! Thats not justifiable they couldve given me a room in the many hotels inside the airport.

No proper assistance is given at the airport and it is very difficult for the senior citizens to board. The Immigration officers Neither tells you Hi nor thank you in return. The customs officers are so rude and they all most strip you off. The T-2 is like a Local bus station. People sleeping on the floor no proper maintenance and facilities. Flew in from London and passed through Customs and Immigration with no problem. After getting our luggage we followed the signs to get a taxi. As we exited several men offered taxis and we followed one into the parking lot and got into a car. We were taken to our requested hotel and paid the sum asked. Only after did we realise we had been scammed and charged five times the price of a regular metered taxi. Moral of story.....understand the local currency, Google taxi prices before travelling and always take METERED TAXIS!!!!!!!

Its really amazing and cool. It has a full time air conditioning and a thousand restaurants including mc Donald, subway and KFC. It is big and has 3 terminals and is the worlds 2nd largest airport. It is very enjoyable and has a kids play area in terminal B and A. It has buffet systems and the good thing is that if you are in the connections you get a meal voucher if you stay for more than 5 hours. I loved it. ☺☺

I was advised by information staff to go to the city by the black taxis (black lexus cars from the company DTC VIP Limousine) because I wanted to pay with my credit card. They told me it would only cost 60 AED (15,50 €). I ended up paying 167,50 AED (43,17 €). The same way back I took a normal taxi from the city ( Jumeira Beach) to airport and paid 82 AED. So the wrong information I was provided doubled my expenses. Dont trust those information and do not get in stress. They push you into a line for taxis. Dont play that game. Talk to the driver directly.

Terminal 3 - A & B gates areas... I gave this airport 2 stars because they have a variety of shopping and eating areas and a lot of areas for people to relax. The 3 stars I took off are for 1. ALL toilets on this part smell like urine. They have staff in each toilet but I dont see why the toilet area still smells. I walked to every toilet and had the same issue. 2. Shower facilities are vague. They have signs to the shower areas, but when you go there its just a bathroom with a shower stall. Is this bad? YES, because the entire bathroom smells like urine (refer to point 1 above), so why would anyone want to shower in that type of environment. 3. The general upkeep is low. The seats in the gate waiting areas are worn out. The air seemed very muggy. It just doesnt feel like an airport you would expect in Dubai. I have been transiting through this terminal since 2008 and it started off very clean and nice. But over the years it has gone down. This is expected with any new facility but this time it just went to a new low so I had to write this review. Im not sure if the other people who reviewed this airport a 5 star rating went to terminal 3 or if they went to 1 or 2.. but this was my experience traveling through Dubai this year. Emirates airlines is great so I wont stop traveling with them but this was just a review of the airport.

Great airport.. lots of shopping spots and restaurants suiting all tastes and budgets. Only negative thing is it the size. Especially if youre transferring to a connecting flight from another terminal. It can become a mad and hectic rush covering the vast distance via the bus, tram and on foot.. so make sure you have a reasonable gap between connecting flights.

Arrived early in the morning, military all over the place(I understand the need for it) however they werent actually doing anything other than chatting and messing around with each other. Very few people on desks when travelling through customs. Security is quite light. Baggage was wrong and we had to walk for a while to get to correct belt eventually. Absolutely the best airport. The sitting lounge was very clean, the staff was very friendly and there were many places to visit within the airport. I loved the Emirates service and the buisness class was the best part in my journey. Me and my family were the only ones in the buisness class, I could sit anywhere, with doubt, Dubai is a place to visit again, I have been here more than ten times but I just love it. The Qatar Airways was also very capable of being compared with the Emirates Airways.

Easily one of the best airports in the world... World class services and facilities and an awesome duty free. Be warned though that the duty free is a little more expensive than the city prices and if youre unlucky... It can be a super long walk to your gate! Immigration queries can also be quite long on busy landing times so regular travels should use the e-gates if they have compatible passports or get an e-gate card (cost AED320 as of 2016) which will save hours in immigration queues!

I travel very regularly to Dubai. The airport is nice and clean. Luggage handling is efficient. But the immigration queues are never ending. It takes me an average 1 hour to clear immigration and that too when I have visa in my hand. 25 plus counters but never more than 4 - 5 manned. Ridiculous for otherwise a lovely tourist friendly city.

Terminal 1 Concourse D is awesome. Maharba longue offers shower service for 60 AED, after long flight hot shower in a beautiful private shower room with Towel service is amazing. Airport shops are pretty good, decent prices except for sunglasses. Sunglasses are crazy expensive for some reason almost double if you compare with price for same item in US. Good experience, will come back.

Beautiful Business lounge by Emirates. The entire 5th floor was the business lounge. Pretty crazy. They have lots of comfortable chairs for you to lounge around or even taking a nap before your flight. Came here 4 years ago the airport needed improvement. 4 years later nothing has changed. What is really ridiculous is that they have a TV show called "Ultimate Airport Dubai". However, it is far from "ultimate". Making 50 terminals doesnt help the airport at all. So here are the complaints. The Wifi does not work. You have to take a bus to the terminal from the plane which takes an hour. There is no where to sit. The bathrooms are always full. It smells like smoke. The security is crap. And lastly there are no good restaurants.

It is new but ridiculously expensive and the transfers take usually really long time Today (as usual) we must use the f*****g slow bus which was driving almost 45 mins around the airport. There were not room to sit down. Another thing is how can they put just 100 seats to the gate when there is departing Airbus A380 with more than 500 people on board? Emirates are good but the airport is terrible. Next time I will buy cheaper ticket and transfer on Quatar or Oman...

Taking Emirates Airlines, we landed in a terminal wholly owned by them. The shopping mall was huge and provided more than enough entertainment to last the two hours between transfer times. There was also a comfortable lounge to relax in. You can pay in local currency or USD or credit card, making shopping hassle free. Overall a great experience despite a long flight.

Now this place really has something for everyone .... with money to spend that is. Ive been here more times than I care to remember and the one thing I know absolutely for sure is that this is probably the best place in all of Dubai itself! BUT the real jems here is the smoking lounges. Not the public ones ib the shopping concourses complete with gas masked employees but the big spacious, well appointed leather and mahogany furnished smoking lounges in the business, gold members and first class lounges! The staff and hospitality combined with the opulence of these amazing spaces make forgoing the shopping an absolute no brainer!

Travelling through Dubai airport was a nice experience 10 years ago. Ever since the airport appears to have become a victim of its own success. Its too huge. Walking distances are endless. The place is crowded day and night, and the cleanliness leaves to be desired. The cafés and restaurants are generally of low quality, and occasionally outright disgusting. The shops are only of interest for those in search of global brand names (there are some of those left, admittedly). I cannot recommend this airport.

This airport is HUGE. It took me 25 minutes and a train ride to get from one gate to the other. Plenty of duty free shops as well as food options. Place is pretty pricey though. They also make you go through security right after you get off of the plane before you can walk through the airport.

I cant even describe the disorganization at the airport with recent events. This airport is no where near world class because they are completely incapable of dealing with anything outside the normal operations such as delays and lost baggage to name a few. Rude, obnoxious and completely paranoid about saving face in front of the media they completely disregarded passengers and their needs. Lining up for 12 hours and watching exhausted women and children no being assisted. Shame shame. Thats all that can be said about this "world class" airport. World class disorganization! Will never return or travel through this disgraceful airport with the rudest staff I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. They dont deserve the one star!

You can wander a while looking for the loos, and without loudspeaker announcements to tell you who is late for which flight, it doesnt feel quite like an airport. But the place is beautiful and clean and linear, and youll be able to pass a few hours here. Passing customs and leaving the airport is a pretty simple process too. Getting through the customs agents can be a bit slow, but everyones extremely pleasant and relaxed.

One of the best experience in the world.. yes in the Emirates business class lounge. My favourite place to wait for the flights. Other parts of the world have to learn from this experience to build such lounges. If you are traveling economy class, Marhaba is a VIP lounge accepting Master credit cards for 4 hours free access which are good.

The worst airport Ive ever been to!!! The officers working there are rude and impolite. You can hardly hear "please", "thanks" and "sorry" from their mouths. It seems that they are too tired to say a word. Using the Internet there is a nightmare! Free wifi for only an hour?! And the signal is so poor that I have to reconnect over and over again. It is ridiculous for such a world famous airport, isnt it? Also, the toilets are not very clean. Yes, the airport is beautiful and there are luxury decorations everywhere. But I really dont care. What I expect is a comfortable place to kill the time while waiting for the flight. It is hard to imagine that it is the gate to an attractive city. I think I will not go back again.

Dubai International Airport is simply to crowded and growing to fast. 3 to 4 years ago was much better. Boarding at terminal 3 with buses is disaster. Took us like 20min from gate B1 to the plane. On way back, at 6am from plane to arrival gate almost 1h. Buses were queuing and security check was done very shallow. Internet slow and toilets smelly. Dubai will be soon like Istanbul Atatürk, means chaos and just shopping shopping and shopping. Airport should be place where you can get support you need and relax in case of longer layover...not an expensive shopping mall.

unacceptable treatment ! The airport itself (Terminal 3) pretends to be one of the best airport terminals in the world...but the police or security officers there are simply of the rudest and indifferent ive ever seen ! Walked throught the security control after the passport control and ive been asked to remove my shoes and put them through the Xray check. No probs ! May i have a pair of feet bags so i can walk through the check point ? and the reply was no... i have to use my socks or walk on bare feet ! Very higienic ! The solutions could be several but non of them seemed to satisfy them ! 1. Let me have a seat in or out the steril area and have my shoes checked then return them to me. 2. provide me with feet bags or alternative. 3. Have a machine that controlls the shoes without beeing neccesary to remove them. Since they never accept any other solution and i used my socks to walk...after few meters they were extremely dirty... then i changed them immediately. Talking about the terminal itself... unless you would like to shop untill your boarding time.... you can hardly find a seat free to relax till your next flight, but there are several seats right at the gate, if your gate is open then you have more possibilities to have a seat there. i suggest to reconsider the seating capacity ! disembark busses are extremely slow too !

As amazing as this place is I cannot believe you might still get a shuttle bus from your plane to the terminal which can add 40 min easy. 30min WiFi is also a drag as layovers never seem to be short. This was the worst airport experience In my life, even if the airport itself is rather modern and clean. Try to avoid it if travelling with small kids and use Dubai as a hub with more then 2 hours stay. They try to position themselves as a "Hub to the Middle East", but all I can say from my experience - HUB MY ASS! There was no playground for the children and not a place where mother can feed the kid or wash their butt. Even in small airports in Russia and other "developing" countries there are special premices for families with kids, where you can even take a shower or have a rest, while waiting for the flight and kids have a nice playground. In this "Hub" there is NONE, even if there is a plenty of unused space in upper floors. Other idiotic thing was American Express lounge. Dubai is the only airport I know, where only arabs can use that service! So if you want to get in, golden Amex isnt enough - you have to wear that stupid white dress, sandals and Arafat shawl to get inside. This is a real racism. There also wasnt free WI-FI, that is a must to have nowadays. There isnt enough chairs and it was awful to see, how families with small children were lying on the floor. The only good thing happened, when I found rare Partagas Culebra cigars in tax free shop. Otherwise experience was awful.

Its not a bad airport. But its nothing compared to Singapore Airport. I went to terminal 3, you will like it only if you like to do shopping in a Big mall. The signs are really confusing. I was feeling a bit ill and asked for the direction of Medical centre, after I long walk I found it and there was a big sign that it is closed and there is another centre somewhere else and with that partial information it wasnt possible to find the another one. Lucky that it wasnt an emergency, how can they treat a very important matter like this in such casual way?!

I flew through here twice via Emirates on the way to Vietnam and from Vietnam. The airport is amazingly large and they have a great range of shops for treats/souvenirs and obviously duty-free items. There are also a few great pharmacies if you are needing items for your trip or there are medical items that you cant get back at home and the prices are quite reasonable. There are a few places to grab a bite to eat but part of the terminal was under construction so I hope there will be more places to eat once that is finished.

DIA is a smart and modern airport but the passenger flow for connecting flights between different airlines - specifically going from one terminal to another is extremely onerous. There are no signs showing the way to the next terminal. The only way of going from A to B seems to be to ask staff along the way - and not all of them are too sure either. I needed to be wheel-chaired from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 and there were no less than 7 hand over points where entries had to be made in the system each time. This whole aspect of airport management should be re-visited and the procedures simplified.

The ultimate airport indeed. I had number of experiences to be there and every time it was awesome. I really loved the direction system they have. You just dont need to ask for a place if you simply follow the direction boards hung. Duty free shops are excellent with a little higher than the market price. Yet cheaper than Istanbul airport. I heartily admire the management of this airport. Waiting facility for the long connecting passengers is very good. Chairs are available everywhere. Airport has got a very rich set of information staffs who are immensely supporting the passengers. In addtion to that, the airport has an expensive service named MARHABA in case you need to collect your luggage after the immigration and you dont have the visa. Its 100 usd. Food courts are fabulous. Internal train service is too good and too fast as well. But staffs sometimes need to be a little more cordial than they are. Being humble with the clients is a part of professionalism. Secondly, the airport Internet system still has a big room to improve. Though they provide 1 hour free, but its always interrupted if you are unlucky. Overall, this is indeed a world class airport. You visit here will always give you a good feeling of travelling. This is very good airport, whatever you want to to, youll find it, but of course not for free. Except going to the toilet. Normally the WiFi is at the speed of a tortule, like charging a fiat 128 with a capacity of Scania tractor. You neednt deal with officers so dont care about this. Normally, because of the very crowd in the airport, a traffic , officials have a very high stress on them, and because also they are not citizens of Emirates. The architecture of the airport is very amazing. There is something bad too, the chairs are not comfortable for the long periods of transit, there are a lot of chaselongs, but there are not enough. Generally, if youre travelling for the first time, I recommend it for you, but after that youll not find any interest in it.

The airport itself is very beautiful. It looks more like a mall which may excite some people. However, very poor behavior of airport staff. Also very poor wheelchair service. My mother in law and I were separated after deplaning. Our connection was in 2 hours. I was not allowed on the cart because I was not disabled (I just did not want to separate from my MIL as she does not know any English or Hindi). The cart driver was quite rude and told me "It is not my problem". Anyway I walk to the gate after changing terminals only to not find my MIL there. My immigration papers were with her as well. After everyone else had been moved to the separate boarding area, about 5 minutes before boarding the flight, I was given assurance that my MIL was with them and then she appeared. Whoever I asked about my MIL treated me like a disturbed child. Very anxious and humiliating experience.

Worst experience ever! Never have I had to wait in such long line ups for past port control. Then when its 1:00 AM and all people want to do is go home, no no lets only have one baggage carousel open and put 3 planes on luggage on one. The crowed is so thick around the baggage you cant even peak to see if your luggage is there. Huge thumbs down and I cringe every time I have to come through this airport. Not impressed especially for a "New Age" city.

Great airport with a lot of facilities . Ther are two Business class louges for Emirates passengers. Ther are a lot of shhopping options. If you have a long stopover you can get free meal coupons from the emirates helpdesk tht can be redemed at different restaraunts around the terminals. You need to use th train service to get to some of the terminals so that is something to consider when making time for flights. Also there is free wifi available of course.

Rubbish. In summary, queues. Compared to the rest of Dubai where customer service is very good,this airport is terrible. Ive used it 4 times in the last 2 weeks and the queues at check in and immigration at terminal 1 are terrible. Allow 1 hour for immigration. Hey dubai authorities, thats an hour less I am in your country spending money on each visit. Why not sort it out with more staff- only half the desks are occupied? Excess baggage same thing 30 mins to queue and pay (I didnt arrive with excess but my airline changed its luggage policy to zero!). Please fix this poor first impression of a great country.

3 terminals. Terminal 3 is the best, I love it, but it is for Emirates Airline Passengers only. Terminal 2 is for budget flights, so dont expect much of it. Finally, Terminal 1, standing in line for immigration may take long time special on arrival. The only bad thing is the 30 min internet policy for all terminals.

Dubai International Airport is really great! There is a big supermarket there, then I can by things that I want or need. The view there is cool. Little gardens, tall buildings, and high roof. They have trains to get you where you need to be. They show you directions clearly so you wont get lost. They have places where you can take a warm nap. You can also borrow strollers for free so you dont have to carry your baby the whole time. When you are tired of walking, there some little cars you can ride if you are tired. Sometimes, when I go there I kind of feel like home!

Regular airport constructions, disorganized transfers and insanely crowded security checks have made it worse. Add to this the fact most transfer flights to US and Europe have 1-2 hrs of lay over time you have to be really quick in spite of all such hindrances. Changi is far better and well organized. The airport is beautiful and maintained but there are plaguing inefficiency in its operations.

When I couldnt afford accommodation during my visit in Dubai I took the metro here and slept landside. Pretty small but Wi-Fi works and its located very close to the center. Not much privacy and no really good spots for sleeping. Slept throughout the night with no one disturbing me at least. The new terminal is awesome though. Spent a night there on the airside as well. It was huge and very quiet but it might have been because it was brand new in 2014.

I had 20 hr layover in Terminal 2 of DXB. It was the most horrible experience i have had in any airport. I would give it Zero star if that was the option. The bathrooms are very small and extremely dirty. The terminal itself is so crowded that you will feel you cant move or breath. The floors are dirty and there is no place to lie down unless you want hard dirty floor as an option like i did. I regret coming thru this way rather than hong kong (HKG) or singapore which 1000 times far superior than any terminal in DXB. This will probably be my only and last visit to DXB.

I transited twice there, had worst shopping experience in their airport super market. First time is: They have listed USD price, I purchased goods at USD27 and gave them USD 30, they collected my USD30 but they claimed no USD 3 to me, so the only choice for me is to either to buy 3 dollars more or they gave local Dubai currency, so I can go to exchange counter to change the USD back. Its ridiculous, first I can not find goods just 3 dollars, second if I go to exchange local currency to USD, I might got no $ back after process fee charged Then I asked to cancel my shopping but they just talk and talk and did not want to return my $. After 10 minutes negotiation at the counter, they finally agreed to refund my money, so ridiculous. The second time is I purchased at UD 17.5 goods, they use local currency to charge me at USD 19, I gave them USD20, but they still return me local currency since they dont have 1 USD to refund me, still unacceptable and ridiculous. Then I have to cancel my shopping again. I never had such experience in other 40 airports Ive been visited in my life.

I love my stay in Dubai for that 1 week but my encounter at Terminal 1 made my holiday there a turned things around. One of the worst airport with bad customer service to the tourists, in my entire travelling experiences. I cant believe I had this bad experiences at Terminal 1 when departing yesterday! Poor planning of the crowds. Zero customer service quality from one on the passport area local staff.

On arrival in Terminal 3 I asked the official Information center how to get to Terminal 1. He told me that there is no shuttle and I have to take a Taxi for AED 40. Since I also couldnt see any shuttle stop I took the taxi. In Terminal 1 I saw the shuttle stop for Terminal 3. Why does the official Information guy lie? Does he get some baksheesh from the Taxis? Very disappointing start visiting Dubai.

Too many aircraft. Not enough gates. Having a 20 minute bus ride from the plane to the terminal is not acceptable. WiFi only free for one hour. Not enough seats and nowhere near enough toilets - seriously who designs for only two or three stalls per facility? Lots of shops if you like that sort of thing. Emirates service has gone downhill rapidly over the last two or three years - they have expanded their service much faster than their capacity to cope, hence parking planes 20 minutes bus ride from the terminal on arrival. The terminal 3 (A gates) business class lounge is excellent if you have the chance to get in there, but since Im usually stuck in economy whenever I pass through Dubai I will be avoiding Emirates and DXB for the foreseeable future.

Its an average airport, I would name in a snap few airports far better than Dubai one. Its planning. If you have any troubles or issues to be solved be ready to wander from one side of the airport to another (more likely not just once). Wi-FI. Where on earth must you pay for the WI-FI in the airport?! One free hour and then 4.95$ per hour. What?! Its the first airport where I face with such greed. Luggage. The last time I passed through Dubai airport I was forced to pay for my trunk. I was flying from Russia to Saudia via Dubai and I couldnt really get my trunk back. If you are a transfer passenger "Marhaba service" doesnt return your luggage and offers 2 options: you should obtain Emirates visa, pass the customers control and then receive luggage in your hands OR pay 80$ to Marhaba service and they will handle your bags to the airlines you fly next. Nonsense.You dont have the money? Nobody cares. Pure extortion. Im still in contact with Dubai airport representative to find out what legal grounds are behind this possession. Its quite cold there in October. I was sittiting in the jacket wrapped in the scarf still feeling uncomfortable. In the future Ill do my best to avoid this airport especially with a long transfer.

Ive been here several times. For that reason I know where is what, but Im sure its a difficulty for first timers. The walks to-from gates are very long. And the overall design is typically overdone Dubai style glossy stuff. No way to spend your time other than shopping. There could have more entertainment options. Good thing is the shopping and food options are MANY! The retail area is huge! Best thing is theres free WiFi and power points to plug in your chargers. The Emirates business class lounge at the upper floor is amazing, with great foods. Dont expect much help from the staffs around the hallways.

Terminal 3, Emirates flight, really nice terminal. Book Marhaba service for quicker arrival. Meets you at the gate, gets you a buggy with driver, takes you all the way to customs in a queue for Marhaba service, and at bag belts somebody will collect your luggage for you. All and all took us 10-15 min to get from gate to taxi.

This airport seems to get bigger and bigger every time I visit - they now have a metro/tram to transport you from one side to the other! When using this airport to get a connecting flight, Ive found the queues arent too bad, however whenever Ive stayed over in Dubai Ive found the queues at passport control to be very long and slow moving. I know theyve recently introduced e-gates to reduce your waiting times and as a member of the Emirates airline Skywards program I have been access to use the e-gates, but not had a chance to try it out yet. During my last visit we also experienced a long wait at the baggage drop and check-in queues for our flight home. The food in the airport is quite expensive, as unhealthy as it is, we usually stick to MacDonalds and Burger King as they are two of the cheapest food options here. One good thing about this airport is the comfortable seating - look out for the "reclining" style seats. We had a long stopover here and it was nice to sit in these and relax for an hour without having to spend any money!

do not go as there is 1 person as the name of mohammed ali that will stop u and make u pay a bribe to let u tho the airport as my partner has just tried to do but he stopped her demined they she pay 5800 us $ to them so they can give her documentation to her for her personal gold in her suitcase as I am a Australian army officer and now have to take it to court to get the money back so plz if u go here just know that they are cuprite and will try to push u around dont let it happen.

Crowded and toilets are scarce. Especially in B/C gates area. A gates area feels more modern and spacious. Signs are usually unclear and/or poorly positionned. This makes it difficult to find where to go.

Nothing particularly special about this airport, the "its okay" rating pretty much sums it up. Baggage was slow to arrive which is frustrating when you arrive late at night. Free wifi options arent great, limited to 1hr in 24 which is pretty poor when your flight is delayed an hour.
