Ive visited the stadium countless times now. Almost everytime theres a match with pakistan in it, Im there. Ive visited almost every section of the place now including the regular, international, premium stands and the VIP suites and have always been impressed by their services. Its a beautiful stadium and Id recommend it to any person who enjoys cricket!

Watched a few cricket matches here. Fantastic stadium. The security guards are not helpful nor friendly and even mislead you sometimes. Once they told me that an area was for invitees only although I was ready to buy a ticket. Then I wrote to PCB who confirmed that the information given by the security personnel was wrong and they had issued tickets for that area for the Test match. Parking may be difficult during an international match.

IPL 2014 IN DUBAI Located on the outskirts of the ever expanding city of Dubai, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a world-class facility with radial access points to the stadium facilitating relatively easy entry and exit points with comfortable seating. The seating is built sloped in such a way that the ground is clearly visible to all spectators. The stadium could do with a lot more ventilation as matches played during summer gets the crowd uneasy. And if its high summer, the chances of humidity taking its toll is quite high. The lighting is good and even, although I am not sure how the players feel about it, because the lights are not focussed on the ground, they are spread along the circumference of the open dome. Security was good and controlled well enough, I must say. Food and drinks in person are not allowed into the stadium. The motive behind this is questionable though. During the recent IPL, exorbitant food and water prices (as high as Dirhams 5 for a 200ml Aquafina water bottle) makes it daylight robbery. And if youre a vegetarian, your choices are limited. Its advisable then to grab your grub early, as it runs out fast and youll be forced to starve or exit the stadium mid-way through the game. The sore point for our eyes was the pathetic quality of the display screen in the stadium. For a city that prides itself on adapting cutting-edge technology, a rather small display screen with several defective points (blind spots) distorting the faces of the players shown, doesnt project Dubai in good light to the world. I hope the concerned authorities take note of this and act on it soon.

"One of crickets greatest shows makes UAE debut" is a good sub-head that I came across in a UAE Daily. But the show held in Dubai on 19th April was a debacle of sorts when considering the sophisticated quality-trait of brand Dubai. The screen in the ground telecasting the two matches was in junk status only to show garbled images, broken content and distorted faces of the team members. Hope someone from the organising committee has commenced addressing the matter, so that needless infuriation and embarrassments are avoided. On another note, the price for a small uncapped bottle of water was five dirhams; likewise other eatables’ price was exorbitant. In between vendors selling KFC stuff, with fries being real potato sticks! Was IPL in Dubai held just for the sake of increasing sales or for clearing stocks of food and beverage? Organisers need to remember that the world has acknowledged the fact that IPL is a phenomenal and recognised world product, in like terms IPL need to carry itself. Having voiced my concern, I also thank Dubai for hosting a part of the IPL action. In a way, it’s a strategic sixer for the city of tomorrow! Or should I say, a free-hit?
