George WallisIm going into my fourth year at this school, and all I can say is that it is truly great. The campus is beautiful, a sight to behold. Walking between classes has never been better. Teachers care lots about your growth, and always keep you learning. As long as you work hard enough, you will do just fine. ASD also offers plenty of activities, from taekwondo to the Musical, you will never be bored after school! The athletics are very big at ASD though. The passion for the Falcons in all sports sets us apart from our arch rivals DAA, and we beat the hell out of them in just about every field. *Best Sports Pun of All Time.* The cafeteria has a Subway and a Juice Bar, (and some trash called Right Bite) but you can always pack a lunch from home. So if your parents are willing to pay the crazy tuition for great academics, athletics, a great campus, delicious food, and incredible student life, ASD is the school for you.

Yoonsuh ParkI am currently a student at the American School of Dubai, and I can certainly say, it is the best school there is in Dubai. I have been attending this school for quite a long time, this being my 6th year. And I have seen the ways that ASD improved vastly. From the old campus to the new campus, massive changes and improvements were made regarding after school programs to classes. I can say for a fact, they absolutely do not post personal medical records anywhere. And they also do not make World History optional, in fact, there is a much better course that insightfully shows the students on how the concept of globalisation impacts both the ancient and modern world. These are courses in 6th and 7th grade. We are also a non-profit school, therefore the profit that is leftover after the payments of the staff, goes directly to the schools various programmes. This is unlike any other school in Dubai, all 356 other schools have a particular person making unreasonable amounts of profit, rather than making the school itself better. The teachers truly care not only about the childrens education, but also in a personal perspective. They make sure that all the children are feeling comfortable in the learning environment. They definitely do not just tell you to open up your textbook and to close your textbook. Each class is filled with many activities and assignments that are very effective at helping the children learn. Our Arts program is another aspect of this school to be amazed by. We have a vast amount of visual arts choices from 7th grade. There is advanced drawing and painting, sculpture and ceramics, and 21st century art and photography. These are semester courses, making it able for students to explore different types of visual arts. There is also many choices for creative arts. There is a choir, band, drama and dance program, that can be taken in middle school. And other than these programs, there are many other opportunities to show each individuals talent in these areas. The musical is an option, the teachers that lead the musical, have a massive amount of dedication to the cast, making each musical beyond outstanding. We also have a program called One Acts. This program is more dedicated to acting. Several directors pick cast members to form their own play, and these plays really make the actors able to do what they are passionate about. ASD also has a 3 year long world language program in middle school. It is recommended that the student sticks with the language they pick from the beginning, so that they are able to build up a foundation, in which they can use later on in high school if they choose to learn a new language. The choices are French, Spanish and Arabic. The "pursuit" program we have recently created, is a chance for students to explore areas that they may be interested, but are not able to take as a regular course. There is a extremely wide pan of choices to choose from when it comes to pursuits. This is a 40 minute session for the students to explore future electives that they may want to "pursue". Our technology program is beyond imagination. We allow students to take a video broadcasting or robotics course, after they have taken the pre-course of MS Tech, in the previous semester. Video broadcasting and robotics is a course in which students can pursue the passion of technology that they possess. And because there is an immense collection of different culture, heritages, and religion, every student is accepting of one another. There is not a single chance that your child will experience racism or any other types of stereotypical discrimination in this school. And in the exceedingly rare to almost non-existent chance that your child may experience this type of discrimination, the counsellors go out of their way to help the student get through the problem they are facing. All in all, this school is surely the number one choice for any student wanting a quality education and also an exceptional experience in the arts, technology and athletics.

JoJo L.HThe American School of Dubai has a gorgeous campus, amazing teachers who make learning so fun, and indeed an excellent education. ASD provides extracurricular activities such as the swim team, soccer team, taekwondo, and so much more. They also provide teaching their students foreign languages including Arabic, French, and Spanish. The American School of Dubai is by far the biggest, most modern, best school in history!

Meester WriterThis is a school situated in the Middle East, a foriegn nation, where everyone in it is essentially an ambassador to the world at large. Yet, they make American History MANDATORY, but World History optional. That should tell you everything you need to know about this pathetic joke of an institution. My education here was pitiful, and I wouldnt wish it on anyone else. Please, I implore you, do not force this experience on your children. They deserve better of you. The staff are, with a few notable exceptions, lackadaisical in their approach to teaching. They shelve out four or five assignments per class, to make up for the lack of effort put into in-class education. You would get the same level of interaction from reading the textbook, indeed I spent several years where some classes began and ended with "open" and "close your textbooks", and neer a word inbetween. My personal medical records, as well as those of dozens of other students, were fully and publicly posted on the wall of the cafeteria for all to see, posted for the entire school to look through due to an "oversight". The only reason we didnt sue the school to bankruptcy over this was for the sake of those students still under education, and instead we sought a personal suit against those responsible for malpractice. We were later informed that this school has been threatened numerous times for similar breaches of personal privacy, and the word "malpractice" has been thrown around so often it has almost lost meaning amongst many members of the community. The substandard and frankly unacceptable level of dedication to childrens education is shameful. You should seek ANY alternative to this institution, including home schooling or online education.

Pamela SamandanASD is an excellent school. The staff is super efficient and incredibly helpful. My son is in 6th grade in ASD from New York because the staff made this possible. Our relocation was expedited due to ASDs staff.
