Sugar Pie

There was a long hair in our chicken parmigiana -2 for that (Disgusting). Other than that we tried Charcoal roast salmon , Falafel & quinoa & Slushies which were good. Staff are very friendly and they did replace the chicken dish with new one for us. Going to visit again? Probably not.

Bertin Bistro occupies the lower half of a two level restaurant venue (the upper level being Andalusia). The venue is quite nice, with a lot of natural light which gives a warm, inviting feeling. The service could use a bit of improvement as the greeting at the door was a bit awkward. The at-table service was better although getting the attention of a server at a later point was a bit difficult even though the restaurant wasn’t very full. We ordered: Bertin’s Benedict: The eggs Benedict was really good, the hollandaise sauce was on point, while the cheese soufflé was an interesting mix of taste and texture. Spanish omelette: was a bit of a let down as it seemed tasteless and the two pieces of large chunky slices of potato seemed more of an odd garnish than a relevant part of the dish. We suggest that you try something else. Lemon Meringue Tart: Overall it was quite good. The soft peak meringues were delicious, however the tart base was a bit too solid which made eating this a bit tough as you go through it with a spoon through softer and then a much harder layer at the end. The lemon curd was quite good, but it was overpowered by the meringue, which was a bit of a negative for us. Drinks: Latte with almond milk: The taste of coffee was no longer there and one of us didn’t like this drink at all so all in all it was quite underwhelming Hot chocolate: It was basically warm cocoa milk, with not enough cocoa.

Lovely atmosphere inside and outside the restaurant. The menu has a niche selection but very well thought out with combinations you wouldnt really have but works well thus giving it a nice USP aspect. Service was average, but the food didnt take to long. Some improvements would surround the staff and their awareness to the customers. All staff had a decent knowledge of the menu a part from a few details but overall very satisfying. You can tell its a new start for them in Dubai, but has some great potential in the future.

What can one say about this place but wow. Never been to a place like this or had such an experience. Bertin is a Bistro and Restaurant which is a 2 story wonder, the ground serves French and German delicacies and the first floor is more Andalusian (mix of Spanish and Moroccan) and serves sheesha too. The floors are adorned with the story of how chef Bertin came to open the restaurants. The ground floor is a bit of an open kitchen and you can see the fresh breads being baked and smell all the goodness. I sat down and with the help of the staff who explained the whole menu and the Flammekeuche and other tasty treats. after a lot of thinking I chose to have mango colada which was basically mango, pineapple and coconut which was very refreshing in this heat. I ordered then chicken Caesar salad which was a big portion and had popcorn in it which was surprising. The bread basket and butter was the welcome. for main course I ordered lamb which was cooked/braised for 6 hours with herbs and cherry tomatoes and mashed potatoes. The meat was the softest Ive ever eaten, you dont need a knife to cut it, you could use a plastic fork for all you want and have it. but it took me a lot of time to eat the dish as after every bite I would wait till the next bite but I could not eat the mashed potatoes as I was full. For dessert I ordered their signature Pain Perdu, you had to crack it open and put in the syrup and some salt sprinkled to enjoy it. One of the best desserts Ive had and so should everyone. I would like to thank Mr Elias for inviting me to have lunch. It was a pleasure meeting him and the staff who were very friendly and took me around the whole place with a lovely tour and made sure I left the place with a promise to come back for more

Horrible experience, we had to wait for 70 min to get the smoked salamon salad for god sake were they chasing the poor fish from the gulf of mexico!! And the other dish never came to the table actually so we decided to just leave! The mushroom sauce has absolutely no taste, no salt, nothing at all !! The ppl there do not even respect that they have messed our order and kept saying its coming in 5 minutes which was of course the typical stupidity of restaurants when orders are messed up... Sooo horrible
