Why I gave it 1 star is because of an experience I had when me n my family went there during one of the days in December where we all were sitting to see the Christmas decoration. It was some place where the seating arrangement was like amphitheatre (outdoor). There were less people who were sitting and watching the Christmas decor.. So, me and family sat there for sometime and suddenly a waiter comes in and asks us if we want to order something. I said no and he left. But then my dad told me to ask them for ice creams or some fresh juices. I could see a man dressed in white uniform staring at us in a very rude way. Honestly it was quite intimidating. It seemed as if he was the incharge there. The waiter went to him(in charge) and he said something in waiters ear. The waiter comes back and says to me, "you need to leave the area". I asked why ? then the in charge came and said us to leave the area. I was confused. When I asked him why then he said, " you cant be here." He looked at my whole dressing as I was wearing my traditional dress and said you dont need to sit here and leave. Thats the time when I felt the discrimination for the very first at a place which I never ever expected. It was my first and last visit to madinat jumeirah. Indeed a very sad moment for us to face this uncomfortable interaction at madinat jumeirah. I really went into depression cause it was not only my insult but for my family as well. That day started off very well with my family but ended as a sad day where it left a very big deep mark in my heart of humiliation that I faced by those people working in madinat jumeirah . I have since never visited this place.

Its a great place to walk around. It is designed to look like a souk and the outside looks like the old houses. There are amazing views of the Burj Al Arab. A luxury resort and Souk that is worth visiting in the evening. Situated on a man-made river, Madinat Jumeriah consists of the Souk and 2 luxury hotels. From here you can get some great views of the Burj Al Arab, eat in some of the water front restaurants, shop around the Arabic style Souk, or take a boat trip on the river. Dont think about trying to get into the hotels though, the security wont let you near!

I nice market designed to appear like the old Dubai souks. Some shops, mainly touristy stuff and gold but there are some great restaurants and a nice outdoor amphitheatre where you can hire a bean bag and smoke some shisha. A large number of the restaurants have outdoor areas. I think it would have been prettier and busier at night but I had little kids so we had to make do. That being said you avoid the crowds during the day.

Such a terrible experienced! Terrible staff service and ruined our day!!! We been to Souk Madinat to explore the place and of course we took photos. We were stop by the security named "Abbas" as he says thats were doing professional photos Im with my 3 friends and my husband we already explain that its only for personal use and other tourist as well have the same DSLR camera. Then he advised us to go to marketing office to get a permit, while we are away, gone to marketing office to ask for permit he deleted our photos??!! Such a rude attitude for a staff for us to be treated like that as we are a guest!!! No hospitality at all. This kind of staff must be given a disciplinary action by the management of Souk Madinat and must undergo for a training how hospitality works!

Staff are not really friendly and do not seem happy with what they are doing. In such level of hotels I do expect higher and softer staff performance. For an example we waited in the looby cofee for 30 minutes waiting someone to take our order.
